BANCO D'ORIO
Banco d’Orio beach is located on a long island, west of Grado, which divides the lagoon from the sea. long and wide strip of soft golden sand, with a wild charm, free, surrounded by unspoiled nature, where many species of birds nest. The sea on the south side is very beautiful, blue, transparent, with sandy bottoms.
BANCO MULA DI MUGGIA
The Mula di Muggia is a vast hump of sand, which extends for hundreds of meters. It acts as a barrier to the sea waves of the Gulf of Trieste. The waters are warm, and at high tide they can almost completely cover the ridge. Completely devoid of vegetation, it is populated by seagulls.
S. GOTTARDO AND S. AGATA STONES
It includes two submerged and hidden areas of our oceanic posidonia of a road or a pier from the Roman era, about 300 meters away from each other and located 380 meters from the coast in front of Grado.
BARBANA SANCTUARY
Barbana is an island located at the eastern end of the Grado lagoon, home to an ancient Marian sanctuary. It is permanently inhabited by a community of Benedictine monks from Brazil.
ANFORA ISLAND
Anfora Island, the scene of the first Italian naval attack in World War I, marked the border with the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In the past, it hosted a stable community from Grado dedicated to fishing. Today, there is a restaurant offering typical local cuisine and a scattered hotel located in the former elementary school.
MIRAMARE
Miramare Castle, perched on a rocky outcrop near Trieste, was built in the 19th century for Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Austria and Charlotte of Belgium. Surrounded by a vast park, it is renowned for its over 20 rooms, including the "Maximilian's Rooms." A visit offers an immersion into the elegance of the Habsburg era, featuring lavish furnishings and works of art.
STELLA RIVER
The Stella is a navigable river for small boats, and it is the most important resurgence river in Friuli. It flows into the Marano Lagoon, where the "Foci dello Stella" Regional Nature Reserve is located. Numerous remains and archaeological findings have been identified in the waters of this river.
CASONI OF GRADO AND MARANO
"Casoni" are typical stilt houses found in Grado and Marano, built with natural materials such as wood, straw, and marsh reeds, which have been the traditional dwellings of fishermen for years.
